Another huge facet of going green is in FSC certified lumber and timber. FSC stands for the Forest Stewardship council which is considered the most rigorous and only certification system for green lumber. The FSC helps provide what is called the chain of custody certification to ensure that all lumber and timber was derived from certified forests.
